Established in 2016, Pūmanawa Āwhina is a community-led initiative that aims to engage and empower communities through culture and recreational activity.

In line with this aim, the wider goal of Pūmanawa Āwhina is to increase social capital in geographical priority communities, particularly those which have been identified as having less opportunities.
